MIBGAS closing prices now available on Trayport Joule

TMX Trayport a wholly-owned subsidiary of TMX Group, and MIBGAS, the Operator of the Organized Gas Market in Spain and Portugal, are delighted to announce a collaboration providing MIBGAS closing prices through TMX Trayport’s Joule.

TMX Trayport’s Joule solution is used by over 9,800 traders in energy, commodities and environmental markets. The MIBGAS markets are already available to trade within Joule, and  has now been supplemented with MIBGAS data that brings official daily price signals from the Iberian Peninsula directly into the trader’s primary workflow, enhancing visibility in this key European region.

The new screen, available now within Joule, features a comprehensive view of MIBGAS closing prices for both derivatives and spot products. This includes the Spanish Virtual Balancing Point (PVB) and the Portuguese Virtual Trading Point (VTP).

The launch includes closing prices for the TVB (Virtual Balancing Tank), MIBGAS’s dedicated LNG instrument – a key regional benchmark for LNG.

As Europe’s largest holder of regasification capacity, Spain’s TVB has rapidly grown in importance, consolidating LNG stored across six regasification plants into a single, tradeable virtual hub. By providing transparent daily closing prices for LNG within tanks, the TVB is establishing itself as a critical reference price for the Atlantic Basin and Southern Europe.

Traders can view TVB prices alongside PVB gas prices, enabling them to monitor the spread between PVB and TVB on Joule—the value difference between the most competitive orders of LNG in the tank and the most competitive natural gas orders in the grid.

The integration also displays closing prices for MIBGAS traded products indexed to major benchmarks, including the PVB MIBG TTF ICIS Index and the PVB MIBG LPI DA Index. The data covers a full range of maturities, from Within Day (WD) and Day Ahead (DA) through to upcoming months, quarters, seasons, and calendar years.
